While Chris was out the previous night with a fellow Essex man (a lovely man who could help Chris with his business contacts) I was browsing the consumer reports on cars! Exciting evening eh?! (Eh? 's a Canadian little touch!). I was trying to sort my head out as to the car I preferred. I noticed though that Toyota offered a 4Runner which was bigger than the Highlander yet slightly smaller than the Honda Pilot. Hmmmm...
And like Dr Watson, I told Chris the next morning of my findings!
We therefore headed down to Toyota, again, to test drive a 4Runner and to hopefully find the car for us. We were hoping for the smooth drive of the Highlander with the comfortable feel inside and with the Honda Pilot space. No such look, it looked basic inside, though there was space it felt more plasticy than the Highlander and we left agreeing to pop into Honda to look at the finish inside.
We were agreed. The Honda Pilot was the one for us. Now all Chris had to do was do the deal... He left us after lunch and headed back down to Honda while I played with the girls. My cousin came to visit with her dog who immediately did a quick reccy of the main floor then promptly crouched and did a wee! My cousin was mortified while I thought it was hilarious until I realised there was a slight slant on the floor. A quick dash for the kitchen roll, dogs outside and a clean of the floor, all was back to normal. Lola had reclaimed her crown and done to Jasper what he had done to her house! Clever little one she is!
Chris returned having done a deal! Yipee! Now all we needed to do was transfer funds from the UK and the car was ours!
We also had a successful supper! Chicken Fajitas. Not burnt, just tasty, cooked and the girls ate it too. Result.
p.s. DHL'd the keys to Alamo! Oops.
